Whitehall Movers
Whitehall, Ohio Moving Company
At Moving Ahead Services, we pride ourselves on offering a comprehensive range of moving solutions tailored to the unique needs of Whitehall residents and businesses. Whether you're relocating within this conveniently located Columbus suburb or venturing far beyond, we've got the expertise and resources to make your move smooth and stress-free.
Licensed, Insured, and Registered
We carry full licensing and insurance, and we register with the City of Whitehall as required of contractors working here. Leasing offices at Norton Crossing and similar buildings ask for that paperwork; we send it before move day.
A Quote That Survives Move Day
We price after we know the details: stair turns in a Parklawn Manor twin single, an elevator window at a four-story building, a long carry across a shared surface lot. No surprises added later.
Why Moving Ahead Services?
We're more than just movers – we're your partners in relocation. Our team is trained to handle the unique challenges that come with each type of move, always with a focus on customer satisfaction.
From the established neighborhoods near Whitehall Community Park to the residential areas along East Main Street, we're committed to providing top-notch moving services across all of Whitehall and beyond. Let us take the stress out of your move, so you can focus on starting your new chapter – whether it's across town or across the country.
- Walk-up stair work — 1950s twin singles in English Village and Parklawn Manor have tight switchback stairs and narrow landings we pad and measure first.
- Elevator building booking — At Lofts at Norton Crossing and The Enclave on Main we confirm reserved elevator windows and dock rules with leasing before load day.
- Shared lot staging — Most Whitehall addresses have a shared surface lot, not a driveway, so we scout stall placement and keep the truck clear of neighbors.
- Construction-zone access — Work near E Broad and N Hamilton has narrowed sites to a single entry point, so we route the crew and time arrival accordingly.
- Winter alert tracking — We watch the city's posted road closure and parking restriction notices and adjust start times when ice hits your street.
Moving in Whitehall: What to Expect
Whitehall's convenient location and accessible housing market create unique moving considerations. Our team is prepared for everything from summer heat to winter snow, ensuring your move goes smoothly year-round. Navigating Whitehall's grid-like street pattern and diverse neighborhoods requires local knowledge – and that's exactly what our Whitehall-experienced team brings to the table.
Schedule Your Whitehall Move
Tell us the address, the floor, and whether you're dealing with a Norton Field prefab, an older twin single, or a four-story elevator building on East Main. We'll ask about stairs, the shared lot, elevator reservations, and current construction access near Broad and Hamilton, then build a written estimate around the real conditions at your door. The estimate is free, and it costs nothing to find out what your move actually involves.

Two Decades of Whitehall Stair Turns and Elevator Windows
We have been moving families and businesses since 2005, and this city teaches a crew fast. Almost the entire housing stock went up in one postwar generation, so the same narrow stairwells and small landings repeat from English Village to Norton Field. The new four-story buildings on the corridors run on a different rulebook: reserved elevators, dock times, protective panels, and construction fencing that can narrow a site to one entry. We plan for both before the truck is loaded.
Stress-Free Experience
You get a plan, not a guess. We confirm where the truck stages in a shared lot, which stairwell the sofa clears, and what time the building releases the elevator, then we work that plan on move day.
100% Transparency
Everything that affects your total gets explained up front: crew size, stair flights in a walk-up, a long carry from the far end of a lot, an elevator reservation window, or a move date at the end of the month. Ask for the free estimate.
Damage Protection Options
Whitehall's older twin singles have plaster walls and tight stair turns; the new lease-ups have fresh drywall and finished lobby floors. We pad banisters, mask door jambs, and offer written protection options so both kinds of building come through clean.
- Why Choose Us
Your peace of mind is our priority.
Our crews are employees we have trained and vetted, not day labor rounded up for the morning. They know how to read a leasing office's move-in packet, how to work a single-entry construction access point, and how to keep a shared lot open for your neighbors.
The same crew that carries a couch down a Cedarhurst stairwell can load a trailer bound across the country. Local knowledge of Whitehall's postwar layouts and corridor buildings sits on top of a network that handles interstate moves end to end.
One company handles the estimate, the packing, the load, the drive, and the unload. Nothing is subcontracted mid-route, so when your Enclave on Main elevator window shifts by an hour, one phone call adjusts the whole schedule.
Projects Completed
- Community Promise
Making a difference in our communities.
- Move For Hunger pickups let you clear the kitchen cabinets before a lease-turnover date and send unopened food to a regional food bank instead of the dumpster.
- United Way support continues year-round through company contributions and crew volunteer hours, not a one-week campaign timed to a marketing calendar.
- We back Susan G. Komen fundraising and awareness efforts, and our crews take part on their own time as well as on the clock.
- Downsizing into Eastway Village or a smaller Norton Field house often means surplus goods; we help sort what can be donated before the truck is loaded.

Movers You Can Trust
Moving in Whitehall: Common Questions
How much does a move in Whitehall cost?
Cost comes down to crew size and how long the carry takes, so we quote after we know the building. A fourth-floor unit at The Enclave on Main with a reserved elevator window moves differently than a 1950s twin single in Parklawn Manor with a narrow interior stair. Shared surface lots, long walks from the nearest legal stall, and end-of-month lease turnover all add time. Get a free estimate and we will price the actual job.
Do I need a permit to move in Whitehall?
No. Whitehall does not issue a separate household-moving permit. Work in the public right of way is a different matter and requires a Right of Way Construction / Minor Maintenance permit from the Building Department at 360 S. Yearling Rd, and contractors working in the city must register with Whitehall. For a standard residential move, your building’s leasing office rules will be the paperwork that matters.
How do you move into Lofts at Norton Crossing?
We book through the leasing office first. A 360-unit community at 4657 E Broad St runs on reserved elevator and loading windows, and those slots fill fastest at the end of the month. Tell us your reservation time and we stage the truck so the heavy items go up inside the window. If the office limits access to one entry point because of nearby construction, we plan the carry route around it before the truck arrives.
Can movers get a truck in with all the construction at Broad and Hamilton?
Yes, with a plan. Redevelopment on the former Woodcliff Condominiums site at the northeast corner of E Broad and N Hamilton has at times narrowed site access to a single entry point, which changes where a 26-foot truck can sit and how far the crew walks. We confirm the current access route with your building before move day rather than finding out at the curb.
Where do the movers park if my building only has a shared lot?
We arrange it with management ahead of time. Most Whitehall renters have a shared surface lot rather than a driveway, and city zoning sets stalls at a minimum of 20 by 9 feet, which is tight for a loaded truck plus a ramp. Section 351.13 also limits parking in residential districts. Coning off two adjacent stalls the night before is usually all it takes, and the leasing office can approve that.
Will my furniture fit up the stairs in an older Whitehall twin single?
Often yes, but sectionals and king box springs are the usual holdups. The twin singles and townhouses in English Village and Parklawn Manor date to the 1950s boom, with steep straight-run stairs, tight landings, and doorways narrower than anything built recently. Norton Field’s prefabricated houses have their own quirks. Send photos or let us walk it, and we will tell you what comes apart and what goes through a window.
What happens to my move if it snows on moving day?
We work through Central Ohio winters, and we watch the city’s alerts. Whitehall posts road closure and parking-restriction notices at the top of the municipal website, and those restrictions can pull the truck stall you were counting on out from under you. We salt and lay runners on approach paths, protect floors at the door, and if the city closes your street we shift the start time rather than risk a load on ice.
Do you handle short local moves within Whitehall?
Yes, and they are a large share of what we do here. With close to 59 percent of households renting, many moves are a hop from a postwar walk-up to a newer four-story building on the East Main or East Broad corridor, or from an apartment into a first house in Old Whitehall or Glenco. Short distance does not mean simple, so we still crew and pad the job properly.
Also Serving Near Whitehall
Whitehall moves rarely stop at the city line. We load and unload across the rest of Franklin County and into the suburbs beyond it, working the same East Broad Street and outerbelt routes our crews run every week.
- Pickerington MoversA common Whitehall exit for families chasing Fairfield County schools, with moves routed off the outerbelt onto State Route 256.
- Worthington MoversSame county, opposite end of I-270, and a steady corridor for older-home moves with tight stairs and narrow driveways.
