Small Business of the Year Award

Moving Ahead Services Honored as Small Business of the Year

Small Business of the YearAs part of the Annual Luncheon event, The Willoughby Western Lake County Chamber of Commerce, along with members of state and local official offices, presented CEO Jeff Collins with the Small Business of the Year Award.  Based on employee and sales growth, the award recognizes Moving Ahead Services for our business success, as well as overall impact on the local economy.  We are honored and humbled to be recognized with such an incredible award!

In the early days, Moving Ahead Services in Columbus consisted of Collins and a few employees, completing a small number of moves each year.  Today, we are providing residential and business customers a variety of moving services, ranging from local and long distance relocation, storage, supplies and more.  Our offices in Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati are just a small preview of what is to come in the future. With thousands of moves completed on an annual basis, the company has grown to provide great jobs for our local labor force.  In addition, our ongoing community involvement includes a variety of not for profit efforts that range from donating supplies to donating labor, equipment and more.

The Annual Awards Luncheon

WWLCC AwardAs part of the annual meeting schedule for the Willoughby Western Lake County Chamber of Commerce (WWLCC), the luncheon is one of the largest events on the calendar. In addition to recognizing Small Business of the Year, WWLCC recognized CEO of the Year, Large Business of the Year and the Showcase Award.  It is inspiring and humbling to be involved in such an innovative group of professionals in our area.  State and local officials were also in attendance, presenting each award winner with individualized awards and plaques recognizing achievements.  To say we left with an armful is an understatement!

Presented by last years’ winner, Carmen Paterniti of D & S Automotive, Jeff Collins accepted the award on behalf of Moving Ahead Services.  In addition to thanking the individuals of WWLCC, Collins also recognized his teams in the field and in the office, his family and his community. Collins attributes the success to hard working individuals, shopping local and keeping money in our community.
