Leftover moving boxes… what to do with them.

You have finished moving and finally finished unpacking and now there are leftover and empty boxes everywhere from the move. What can you do with them? There are a few simple things you can do with the leftover boxes. These ideas can be used for more than just moving boxes. Use these ideas for any boxes that are delivered or in good quality can have many uses. 

Recycle them

Take them to your local recycling center or place them with your recycling trash. This is the easiest way to put a use to those empty boxes without wasting them. Use them for projects around the house and for the kids to have some fun playing around with those leftover moving boxes.

Selling boxes that are in good condition is always and option. Being able to make a little something back from the time and money spent is rewarding. Try putting them on Facebook or find an organization that will take the used boxes. Moving is expensive and this is good way to assist someone else with cost savings.

Donate them

If you know anyone moving and want to give the boxes away. If you live in apartments or condos this is a great place and someone could be moving soon. Ask around to give the boxes away and help a neighbor out. Reaching out to a local church or food bank is an option, donations are always welcome for food drives and transportation of these goods.  

Good for long term storage

You can always use these boxes for storage and around the house. Placing and sorting your items in moving boxes is quick and will be set aside for easy storage. After that pack away for safety and if moving again the boxes are ready to go or then you might know it’s time to get rid of these items. 

 

If none of these options are available or work out for you. You can always save the boxes for your next move. The boxes store flat for storage and can stay together when it is time for the next move. Choose the boxes that are clean and the most sturdy. Boxes store great in a cool dry place. In addition, tuck away those boxes for safe keeping for you or a friend’s next move and don’t forget where they are located.
