Prepping For a Hot Weather Move

Warmer weather is fast approaching. Moving throughout the summer and in the heat is not ideal for everyone. Hot weather and moving are not the best of friends. Check out these tips that have become very useful. Over the years learning tips for staying cool in the heat is very helpful. Protecting items that can be damaged while prepping for a move in hot weather saves money. 

Hot Weather Tips:

Heat Can Damage Items – Electronics, electrical equipment and paintings should be kept inside until the move is ready. Keep all items protected from the weather and sunlight.

Children, Pets and Family Members – Anyone who is not involved in the move during hot weather, shouldn’t be there. This helps to reduce distractions to complete the move in a timely fashion.

Staying Hydrated – Make sure to have drinks and snacks on hand for anyone that is participating in the move to stay fully hydrated.

Early Morning Move – Schedule a move for the early morning, if possible, the sun is not at its highest in the sky which will help to limit the heat and be cooler outside for longer.

Light & Breezy Clothing – Wear light colors, avoid heavy and thick items of clothing. This will help to keep you cooler longer. Reducing the need for additional hydration.

Sunscreen – Always make sure there is sunscreen available. Keeps you protected from the sun and helps protect burns. This will be important to have on hand as the day goes on depending on how long you will be in the sun.
