Fast Track 50 Awards Finalists Announced

Fast Track 50 AwardsFast Track 50 Awards finalists have been announced! For the third year running, Moving Ahead Services has landed on the Fast Track 50 list and again as a top 3 emerging business finalist! We are incredibly excited, and hopeful that the third time is in fact the charm. This years’ event is special given that Fast Track 50 began 25 years ago. Keynote speakers this year are two of Mentor’s most notable entrepreneurs – Ed and Nancy Brown of Brown Aveda Institute and Ladie’s and Gentleman Salon and Spa. It is going to be a great event!

About The Awards

Fast Track 50 applicants are judged based on financial and growth information. Dating back to the initial awards 25 years ago, applicants are ranked and selected based on 80% growth in sales and 20% growth in employment over a historical 5 year trend.  Winners for 2017 are evaluated based on sales and employment data over 2012-2016 operating years, with all information requiring confirmation from each companies’ business accountants. Companies must be located in Lake or Geauga Counties and must have a 2012 profit minimum of $250,000. Fast Track 50 is also split into two categories, Established Businesses and Emerging Businesses. This provides a means for smaller scale companies to compete!

In 2017, the minimum revenue for the Established business category is $2.75 Million. The Emerging Business Category requires $250,000.

Moving Ahead Services Announces Acquisition

Moving Ahead Services Acquires Two Ohio Relocation Companies

Moving Ahead Services proudly announces the recent acquisition of two additional Ohio-based relocation businesses.  As of September 1st, 2017 Moving Ahead Services has acquired Northeast Ohio-based “Bright Eyed Moving” and Cincinnati-based “We Help Moving”.

“The decision to expand our footprint in Ohio was an easy one. The recent additions will allow us to better serve our customers in Northeast Ohio as well as in Cincinnati and Dayton”.  Jeff Collins, President and CEO.

Prior to this, Moving Ahead Services locations included Willoughby and Columbus, with plans to expand to Pittsburgh in late 2017.

Acquisition

Acquisition Details and The New Locations

Cincinnati customers of We Help Moving will receive information regarding the acquisition, as well as an invitation to utilize our moving services.  We Help Moving has been in business since 2004, and will now be operated as a Moving Ahead Services location. From training advancements to administrative staff growth, customers will enjoy all of the benefits of the acquisition along with an excellent service and support experience.

Northeast Ohio customers of Bright Eyed Moving will enjoy the same great service and support, with combined administrative efforts and access to all available resources that Moving Ahead Services’ customers have enjoyed for over a decade. Bright Eyed Moving will remain a separate entity as a ‘DBA’ of Moving Ahead Services. Started in 2015, Bright Eyed Moving provides an excellent relocation solution for any size move, locally and long distance.

About Moving Ahead Services

Moving Ahead Services was founded in 2004 by Jeff Collins, a veteran of the United States Marines and Northeast Ohio native.  These acquisitions are the most recent in a series of growth initiatives to maximize opportunity and service for both customers and team members.

The Cincinnati acquisition will allow the Moving Ahead Services’ Columbus team to focus on local efforts, and award current Cincinnati customers and customers of We Help Moving the same great service and support. Expanding coverage in both Central and Northeast Ohio was the next logical step, having long operated at peak capacity during the majority of the year.

We invite you to schedule your next move with Moving Ahead Services in Cleveland, Columbus or Cincinnati -or- with Bright Eyed Moving in Northeast Ohio. We look forward to serving your relocation needs!

Holiday Food Drive Recap

The Results Are In – Drumroll Please!

Food drive totals were incredible! Our offices collected a total of 1,600 pounds of food for United Way. Despite all of the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, we truly had the best support.  Our customers, neighbors, family, friends and team all came through to donate! We couldn’t be more grateful, and are so proud to have such wonderful communities to call home.  For our first official food drive, we’d say it was a great success!

In the first week, we collected about 580 pounds of food!  Much of this was in large part to our generous customers, as part of the Move for Hunger program.  As a Move for Hunger partner, our team reminds each of our customers that we collect food they would dispose of.  Any non-perishable items from cupboards, pantries and the likes are loaded into a Move for Hunger box during move day.  This has allowed us to collect and donate hundreds of pounds of food, most of which would have gone to waste!  Moving is busy and often overwhelming, this allows an easy way to donate without the hassle!

The Final Stretch – Food Drive Wrap Up

In the final week of the food drive, we had community drop offs, our neighbors donated, customers continued to contribute and our teams and their families also donated. Every single donation counts! 1 can of food from 30 people certainly adds up. We had boxes upon boxes of canned goods, PB&J, formula and more.  It was powerful to see it all in one place!

Our drop off at United Way was welcomed with applause and true appreciation.  While hunger in Ohio is an ongoing issue throughout the year, the holidays can be especially taxing.  Food pantries are tasked with feeding more people than ever, and children aren’t receiving school lunches – Adding to the long list of those in need.

A Little Friendly Competition

In the spirit of the season, we decided to make our Holiday food drive as motivating as possible! We challenged our teams in Cleveland and Columbus, as well as offering a top collection incentive and a lunch party. While the totals were close, our Cleveland office came out with the big WIN! Ron, a member of our team in Cleveland, was recognized for collecting over 300 pounds of food from customers!

Providence House Deck the House 2016

Deck The House 2016

Providence House Deck the House 2016 was a great even all around! Hosted last week at Cleveland Browns Stadium, the event features live entertainment and more. This has become the unofficial start of our holiday season at Moving Ahead Services! The atmosphere could not have been more festive, the auction items were great. There were more holiday trees than ever before! Our crews packed, wrapped, moved and delivered 19 trees this year!

Providence House Deck the House 2016

In Cleveland and beyond, Providence House is recognized as one of the largest crisis nurseries in existence.  Serving children and their families in times of need, Providence House provides various care.  From clothing to shelter, food, medical attention, education and interaction and more. It’s truly an asset to our community.

The Annual Deck the House fundraiser is their largest event. Featuring local Cleveland Browns players, and a diverse guest list. Event goers dine on great food and shop the auction items and direct Providence House fundraiser initiatives.

Our Role in the Event

For the last several years, Moving Ahead Services has volunteered time and resources to Deck the House. Our team wraps, packs, transports, stores and delivers the trees to auction winners.  Each holiday tree is decorated in a different theme, and auction bidding commences shortly after the event begins.  Winners enjoy their evening, and our crews are hard at work as soon as the event ends.  Many of us were on site this year, attending the event and coordinating the moving services. Providence House Deck the House 2016 was one of the largest we have seen, and we couldn’t be happier for them!

A Little Friendly Competition

During the holidays, donations can have a huge impact.  Food pantries, churches and other non-profit organizations are inundated with requests, and kids are not in school for an extended period – lengthening the list of those in need. A December holiday food drive is a great time to give! To promote our efforts our offices in Cleveland and Columbus are competing to see who can collect the most food. The winning office will enjoy lunch, and the winning team member will also get three additional vacation days.

Donations will be taken to United Way of Lake County and United Way of Central Ohio and distributed from there!

Thank you for helping us fight hunger this holiday season!
